What to check before buying in Red Sea

• Check the legal status. A property registered at the notary (shahr aqary) is far safer than an initial contract or a power of attorney.
• Compare price per square metre, not the headline price. It is the only way to tell whether a unit is expensive for its area.
• Ask exactly what the finishing includes. "Semi finished" means very different things from one seller to another.
• If you are paying in installments, ask for the schedule in writing and look at the total, not just the monthly figure.
